If every fan had their dream, then every combination of wrestlers and matches under the sun would have happened by now, but not all dreams come true, and there are numerous matches that we could see but most likely won't.
There are so many matches I could think of that would be amazing WrestleMania matches. There are a few guys who never had their WrestleMania moment at all and others who have had tons, but never together.
Here I will go through and list what I think would be some of the WWE Universe's best dream matches for WrestleMania.
It always seems to me that whenever a dream match is mentioned it contains one of five names: The Undertaker, The Rock, Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels and Sting.
I set up this slideshow with four slides for Taker, Austin, Rock and Sting with several matches listed on each slide, but rest assured, you will see plenty of HBK mentions in here.
I may not hit on all the matches you think would be good, so please feel free to leave some of your own suggestions below.
Undertaker vs. Sting
This is an obvious choice, as these two have been two of wrestling's biggest names over the last couple decades. They have always been linked due to the similar dark nature of their gimmicks.
Sting has said he was close a few times with WWE in the negotiations the two sides had, but they always fell through for one reason or another. Both wrestler's in-ring careers are winding down, so there is not a lot of time left for this one.
Undertaker vs. The Rock
These two are no strangers to each other, but they have never faced off on the grandest stage of them all. They are two of WWE's biggest draws ever and putting them together would only make Vince a lot more money.
I don't see this one being possible unless Rocky says he would do next year's 'Mania as well.
Undertaker vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin
Again, plenty of encounters between them but never at WrestleMania. Stone Cold won't come back just to lose to Taker, so this one really is just a dream match.
Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar
I personally don't care one way or the other whether this happens or not, but a lot of people would wet their pants if this was announced, so it seemed appropriate to include.
Undertaker vs. John Cena
What better way could Undertaker pass the torch than by facing WWE's biggest money maker, John Cena. These two have very little history between them, so it would also be a fresh feud.
I think the potential in this match would be so high that it would be impossible to live up to.
The Rock vs. Shawn Michaels
How is it possible that two of WWE's biggest names, whose careers intersected, never faced off one-on-one at WrestleMania you ask? Well, they didn't, and I want them to.
This match would be epic in regards to having WWE's best performer face WWE's best entertainer. How could this not draw millions of PPV buys?
The Rock vs. CM Punk
I know John Cena is looked at as the guy who needs to face Rocky, but I think Punk and Rock could put on a match that would shake the very foundation of WWE.
Punk is amazing in the ring and so is Rocky; what more could you ask for? They have more contrasting styles than you would expect, and together, they would put on a 5-star match, without a doubt.
The Rock vs. DDP
People's Champion versus People's Champion—whats not to love? DDP and The Rock had a couple of run-ins back when they still wrestled, but this is an idea DDP had that never got approved.
When DDP was in WWE, he was not used as a high-end star like he was in WCW. Instead, he was booked as a mid-card wrestler. Now his yoga is changing the lives of wrestlers, but if he were to come back, this would be the one match I think I would want to see.
I was a big DDP fan during his World Title run with WCW, so this is something I have wanted to see for years.
I won't mention Rock/Undertaker again, but you know you would love it.
Shawn Michaels vs. Sting
HBK and Sting were the two top names in WCW and WWE at the same time, but they never ended up in the same company since Sting never went to WWE and Shawn never went to WCW.
Both of them are already living legends, but this match has been on my wish list since I was about 10. They seem like they would have great contrasting styles that would mesh very well.
Bret Hart vs. Sting
This match already happened in WCW, but I would rather not remember Bret Hart being in WCW at all, seeing as he was booked poorly and his career was cut short by a tragic accident in a match with Goldberg.
The Scorpion Death Lock versus The Sharpshooter would be an epic showdown, but with Bret not being in the ring shape he once was and Sting being in TNA, I think this one will have to remain a WWE 12 create-a-wrestler match.
If this were to happen, it would not be able to live up to the legend of the two men, so I would be against this actually being booked.
The Rock vs. Sting
I would have put this on the other slide, but it didn't occur to me until now. These two would probably be able to have a great match.
The Rock and Sting are two people who you might not ever associate with one another, but the potential for the fan reaction is limitless. I would be all for seeing this, no matter who won.
Steve Austin vs. Sting
I figure if Sting is being paired up with some of the other big names in WWE, I may as well put him with SCSA. Austin and Sting were both in WCW at the same time and probably faced off, but Austin was not the mega-star he is today.
If these two were to step in the ring together, it would be like a flashback to WCW 1993, when things made sense and face paint was cool.
Steve Austin vs. CM Punk
The beer-drinking redneck versus the straight edge savior is a match that fans have been asking for ever since the two engaged in a little back-and-forth sparring via Twitter.
The one face-to-face meeting they had simply wasn't enough; the fans want a match between the master of the stunner and the ambassador of the anaconda vice.
Steve Austin vs. John Cena
I figure if Steve Austin had great chemistry with one loud mouth in the Rock, then he could have great chemistry with another loud mouth in John Cena.
Austin was heading out the door as Cena was walking in it, so they never really had a chance to make anything happen, but a high-profile match between the two would draw big money and lots of fan acclaim.
