Miami Dolphins Making the Right Call by 'Low-Balling' Matt Flynn
The Miami Dolphins may have already bowed out of the Peyton Manning sweepstakes, but that doesn't mean they should go all-out for Matt Flynn in the same fashion.
In fact, doing so might be one of the worst decisions the team could possibly make.
Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports is reporting that the team is low-balling the offer to Flynn.
"Matt Flynn still wants to sign with the Dolphins, but the team is low-balling the offer, thinking he'll take it just to play for Philbin.

It may seem as though the Dolphins are giving him a small offer simply because of the connection with former Packers offensive coordinator and new Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin, but don't forget that Flynn has started just two games in the NFL.
He played very well in Week 17 against the Detroit Lions, and made a lasting last impression before he hit free agency. How much of that success is a result of Green Bay's bevy of offensive firepower?
Flynn might be the second-best free agent quarterback available, but that doesn't mean anyone should be going to extraordinary lengths to bring him in, or do anything near what teams are doing to land Manning.
Another perspective: Perhaps the Dolphins are confident not that Flynn wants to play for Philbin so badly that he'll take any offer, but that he wants to play for Philbin badly enough that he'd at least give them a chance to match a potential offer from the Seahawks.
Let someone else overpay for Flynn; the Dolphins are making the right call by not overextending themselves on an offer.
