It's official, the match that every fan saw coming for the past few weeks now ever since WWE had started the John Lauranaitis and Teddy Long "I wanna be General Manager of RAW and SmackDown" feud. According to Ring Side News, the board of directors have made the match official.
Here is the official report:
A "memo" from WWE's Board of Directors was posted on the official WWE website on Monday morning, officially confirming a rumored match for Wrestlemania 28.
Team Laurinaitis vs. Team Long has been signed, with each respective general manager having 6 superstars battling it out.
The winning General Manager will gain control of both RAW and SmackDown.
The participants will be announced over the next few weeks, starting tonight on RAW.
The match will be replacing the Money in the Bank Ladder Match which was rumored to return to it's first home, WrestleMania. After Wade Barrett's unfortunate injury on RAW which caused him to dislocate his shoulder (he was rumored to be the winner), WWE scrapped the match taking this in place.
Although the participants of the match are not official, the rumored superstars to take place in the match according to Ring Side News are:
Team Lauranaitis: Alberto Del Rio, Christian, Mark Henry, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger and David Otunga.
Team Long: Rey Mysterio, R-Truth, Kofi Kingston, Ezekiel Jackson, The Great Khali and Santino Marella.
It's also worth noting that if Rey Mysterio is not medically cleared to compete by April 1st, he will be replaced by Evan Bourne whose current 60-day suspension ends March 17th.
