WWE News: Latest Update on Alberto Del Rio's Return to WWE TV
Monday Night Raw has been missing a main event level heel for a few months now, and his name is Alberto Del Rio.
The Mexican superstar has been out of action since suffering a groin injury in December, and his only recent appearance on WWE programming came at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view when he voiced his support for John Laurinaitis.
Since then, ADR has been nowhere to be found on TV, and there’s been no indication that he’ll be returning to Raw or SmackDown anytime soon.

So, just where is Del Rio anyway?
From PWInsider.com (via WrestlingInc.com):
"Alberto Del Rio was backstage at last night's RAW. He is cleared to return and is waiting for the creative team to come up with something for him.
"
Umm. There is already a perfect storyline on WWE TV just waiting for him to be a part of it.
I mean, what was the point of Del Rio showing his support for Laurinaitis if there were never any plans to follow up on it in the first place?
I don’t want to hear that “creative has nothing for Del RIo” because, judging simply by his appearance at Elimination Chamber, creative does indeed have something for him as one of the heels who represents Team Laurinaitis in the likely Team Long vs. Team Laurinaitis match at WrestleMania 28.
While I may not be the biggest Del Rio fan out there, there’s no doubt that he’d make a solid addition to Laurinaitis’ heel squad at Mania and give the match some much-needed star power.
Perhaps something along these lines would work: Kofi Kingston, Santino Marella and ??? (Team Long) vs. Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler and Alberto Del Rio.
Although I don’t care for six-man tag team matches too much, that would be a nice little bout between five guys (and six, depending on who’s added to it) who can actually work.
So, maybe the creative team should realize that Del Rio doesn’t need to be wasted away by sitting backstage twiddling his thumbs. He needs to be thrust into the Laurinaitis/Long angle to give it some new life.
