Broner vs. Perez Results: Adrien Broner Stays Perfect with Victory vs Eloy Perez

Adrien Broner was able to retain his WBO junior lightweight championship with a victory against Eloy Perez on Saturday night. 

The undefeated Broner earned his fifth victory since the start of 2011. He knocked Perez from the ranks of the unbeaten in the process. 

Broner entered the fight as a heavy favorite, and he was able to deliver a successful performance to retain his championship. 

What It Means?

Broner continues his ascent up the junior lightweight rankings. He does not have a lot of challengers left to battle in the division, so he could look to take his talents to a different weight class for the time being. 

Despite an uncertain future in the division, Broner's future looks bright. He will have to keep taking on quality opponents to elevate his standing, but right now there are no real complaints. It's hard to argue with a fighter who is 23-0 and a champion in his weight class. 

What Happens Next?

Trying to determine what will happen with Broner is not going to be easy for the folks at Golden Boy Promotions. 

There is no doubt that he has the talent to be a dominant force in the junior lightweight division for a long time to come, but there has to be some direction for him if he wants to stay there. 

He could fight some journeyman boxer next to ensure he gets a victory, or he could challenge himself with a move up or down in weight to see how he can handle himself against a different kind of opponent.
