Henrik Larsson praised his former teammate Xavi in an interview with Canal 4+ which appeared in Goal magazine. Larsson was an attacker for FC Barcelona (from 2004-2006) and knew Xavi during that period.

Larsson praised Xavi as a great player who is able pass the ball at the right time. He commented about how Xavi rarely lost the ball during a match.

The former attacker praised Andres Iniesta for learning from Xavi. Larsson commented about the chemistry between Xavi and Iniesta.

While Larsson praises Xavi, the attention towards the latter is directed at his future. In a separate article published in Goal, Xavi responded to questions and comments by journalists (during an event organized by Adidas) about replacing Pep Guardiola as manager.

Xavi denies harboring any ambitions to replace Guardiola as manager and prefers to play football. Xavi expressed confidence that Guardiola may renew his contract with Barca.

Whether Guardiola renews his contract on an annual basis is his decision. What should be left out of the discussion is who will succeed Guardiola.

The reason is that Guardiola remains manager of FC Barcelona. The concept of who will replace Guardiola with Xavi or another candidate should not be discussed. The main factor for FC Barcelona is to concentrate on what remains of the La Liga, Copa Del Rey and UEFA Champions League season.
