The Super Bowl is an event that always offers intriguing gambling opportunities. Prop bets have become very popular as they offer fun and a different way to gamble.

One of the more interesting bets is picking which team will receive the opening kickoff. The New England Patriots seem to be the safe bet in this scenario.

Who receives the opening kickoff usually depends on who wins the coin toss. However, both teams will be looking to allow Tom Brady to take the field first. So, this means that the coin toss doesn't really have much impact on will get the ball first.

The New England Patriots want to have Tom Brady and their offense on the field as much as possible. Their offense is responsible for setting the tone for their entire football team.

Getting the ball first and driving down the field would give the defense some breathing room and confidence. A simple rule is that you need to put the ball in the hands of your best player.

However, this isn't the strategy the New York Giants are likely to employ. Eli Manning is their best player, but Tom Coughlin might want to get his defense on the field first.

The Super Bowl always brings about a ton of emotions, which tends to benefit the defense. Offenses need to be calm, focused and sharp in order to be successful. A defense typically drives off of emotion and adrenaline.

Getting their explosive pass rushers on the field first could have a major benefit for the New York Giants. It will give them the opportunity to put pressure on Brady right out of the gate. If they're able to make him uncomfortable from the start, it could have impact on his mental makeup throughout the game.

The Super Bowl will be a long and closely contested game, but that opening drive has the potential to be a major momentum shift. Both teams will look to gain an advantage from the very beginning.
