The Dwight Howard pot-of-frustration is about to boil over.  As the Orlando Magic continue to lose (four-in-a-row as of Tuesday), the blame is now being put on Dwight Howard and his possible lack of determination.

As an organization, it is time to grant Howard his wish and trade him out of Orlando.

So—why not the Dallas Mavericks?  Here are a few reasons why the Mavericks and Dwight Howard would be perfect matches for each other.

Howard Would Be Playing with One of the Best Power Fowards in the Game.

Can you imagine the defensive mismatches that the Mavericks would cause with Dwight Howard and Dirk Nowitzki on the floor at the same time?  Howard is most likely the best low-post scorer in the game, while nobody can hit mid-range jumpers like Dirk can.

Whenever the Mavericks play, the opposing team usually has their best post defender guarding Dirk. Any time he gets within five feet of the basket, he usually gets double teamed.  If Howard was there, it would be near impossible to double either of them.

Dirk and Dwight would make an excellent front-court duo that would dominate foes for many years to come.

The Mavericks Are Already a Great Defensive Team

The Mavericks rank fifth in the NBA in points allowed with 90.5 points per game through Tuesday, but there is one glaring weakness that needs attending—a shot-blocking down low presence.  One of the reasons the Mavericks won the NBA championship last year was Tyson Chandler's great low-post defending.

Now that Chandler has gone to the Knicks, Brendan Haywood and Ian Mahinmi have held their ground, but not to the extent that Howard could.  Howard's ability to clog the lane would be a huge upgrade for the Mavs on defense, as it would force the opponent to take more jumpers.  That's where the great perimeter defending of Jason Kidd, Delonte West and Jason Terry come into play.

If Howard joined the Mavericks, their defensive game would go from very good to the best in the NBA.

Howard Would Get a Shot at the Western Conference

Some of the NBA's youngest and most exciting front-court players play out West.  It would be a natural fit for Dwight to go up against the likes of Andrew Bynum, Blake Griffin or Marc Gasol a few times a week.

He has played historically well in big games, and playing in the Western Conference playoffs would be the perfect setting for him against big-time competition.  Howard's intensity level on a new team with a fresh start will make him a big threat come playoff time.

This one is a given.  If you want to leave Orlando for a contender, why not leave for the defending NBA champions?  The Nets or Clippers haven't yet proved their playoff worth, but they are younger teams and still have time to grow.

Some of the Mavericks are old, but still have a few years left in the tank. If a star like Dwight Howard comes to town, he could win a few more championships with the original core and/or build for the distant future as well.

The options are limitless if Dwight Howard makes the move to Dallas.  So why not make it happen, Orlando Magic?
