WWE: 6 Reasons Why the Undertaker Needs to Return Before WrestleMania 28

David LevinJan 18, 2012

There are so many changes taking place or about to take place in the WWE, there needs to be a new sheriff of sorts. Someone who can come in and cause enough stir and maybe panic that the forces of good and evil level off and provide some "balance" between both brands.

In other words, Undertaker, if you are listening, we need you back in the WWE ASAP!

With cross-brands fighting and John Cena having doubts about his "persona" and a personal battle with Kane, and of course, the return of Chris Jericho, these are just some of the "afflictions" that affect the company today.

And we aren't even discussing the problems that exist between CM Punk and the Vice President of Talent Relations, John Laurinaitis, or the problems that exist within the tag team division or the Divas who come out every week and tease us with their appearance but not their ability.

And if you can some how manage to get Michelle McCool to come out of retirement when you return, that would make all of us smile as well.

But getting back on point, here are some reasons why your presence is needed now. Forget about WrestleMania 28 for a moment, your expected return date. This is why we need you NOW!

Continuity Between Brands

With the new "Super Shows," it would seem there is no true division within the company except that the titles can only be won be perspective wrestlers under which the brand and title it represents.

It also means there are too many battles taking place that really have little or no impact on the Monday and Friday shows. Having the Undertaker wrestle on either brand and "only" wrestle brand wrestlers makes the division a little easier to deal with.

And it could lead to the elimination of branding all together and just one name: WWE.

An Opponent for Chris Jericho

Dolph Ziggler deserves an angle with CM Punk. He also deserves a shot at the WWE Title. I don't think he will get a fair shake now that Jericho is back on Raw.

One thing the WWE does (like TNA) is rely way too much on the veterans to carry the load. And while we are asking Undertaker to return, he is more stability than anything else.

We don't expect him to challenge for the company belt, but rather, he could have an angle with Jericho, which would still allow Ziggler, Zack Ryder and The Miz adjust to being lead dogs in the company.

He Sells for Wade Barrett and Sheamus

Two "big" superstars need a "Big" man to sell for them and put them over.

Undertaker is the man to do it.

While both men have worked against each other and with the likes of Christian and Randy Orton, John Cena and Mark Henry, The Undertaker is undeniably the best at his craft and works with opponents, not against them, to create the aura of believability.

He Could Take Some Heat off John Cena

While the "heel" turn is now automatic, the fact that Undertaker is there and an opponent of Kane could lead to an interesting dynamic of Cena having to choose between good and evil.

I have only recently thought of this idea, and while it needs more work, it is viable if written correctly. And no one was booing Cena when they saw the rage inside him Monday night. It is the conflict that makes for a long storyline.

The one person in the company that is equal to the Undertaker is Kane. Cena cannot match him. Jericho cannot match him. CM Punk cannot match him.

If there is an inner battle between the two of good and evil, it can be decided at WrestleMania 28 or 29.

While He Returns, Other Wrestlers Heal

Randy Orton, Alberto Del Rio, Christian, Rey Mysterio, etc. The injuries keep mounting, and the product gets stale.

Undertaker fills those slots (well not all of them) and keeps fans in the seats.

He is money, and he sells like few others.

The Locker Room Needs Him

Is there anyone in the WWE who is more respected for his work ethic and his ability than the Undertaker?

He does year after year and does it with such precision. And his gimmick is never old. Ric Flair once said in "To Be The Man," there are few wrestlers over the years in the business that he respects more than the Undertaker.

High praise when you consider who Ric Flair has worked with over 40 years.

He is a teacher by example, and he is also not afraid to speak his mind.
