Having been cleared by the Cleveland Clinic to play basketball, diminutive center Chuck Hayes is drawing interest from several teams. According to Mark Spears:

Agent Calvin Andrews tells Y! Sports Sac frontrunner to sign Chuck Hayes, but Hou, SA, Minny in mix too. Decision likely to come after Xmas.

Looking at those teams, all four would be interesting fits. Sacramento already had one deal and Hayes would like to revisit that.

Meanwhile, according to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Rockets signing Samuel Dalembert takes them out of the running.

Hayes is a unique player. At just 6'6", he mans the middle and is an excellent defensive presence in spite of the fact that he's almost always giving up close to half a foot or more in size. However, his quickness and strength compensate for his lack of length.

Hayes would be interesting in Minnesota, giving them a defensive presence. He would run well with a team that clearly wants to run, but playing next to Kevin Love would give them a badly undersized frontcourt.

San Antonio is interesting as a target as well. He's the type of player they like, who is hard working, unselfish, keeps a low profile and all that.

In all likelihood, though, he'll end up back in Sacramento.
