The Rock started all of this when he referred to John Cena's wardrobe as resembling Fruity Pebbles. He also started calling the legions of Cena fans "The Froot Loop Troop."
Now it looks as if WWE and Post cereal are looking to capitalize on the humorous barb from Rocky by having Cena actually be on the front and back cover.
Wrestleheat.com is also reporting that as part of the promotion, fans can win a chance to attend a WWE live event, win exclusive Cena merchandise and even win a personal meet and greet with the leader of the Froot Loop Troop himself.
Frankly, I am not sure who this benefits more, Cena for the exposure or Rocky for proving he is the most influential voice in wrestling by having a single insult turn into a cross promotional deal.
Either way you look at it, this is a good move by WWE. This not only capitalizes on Rock's fans wanting to insult Cena, but it also capitalizes on Cena's younger fan base who love these sweeter cereals.
I was planning on going grocery shopping today anyways so maybe I will pick up a box and see if I can win a baby blue Cena shirt like the one he is pictured wearing, so I can sell it on Ebay.
Here is a larger look at the front and back cover.

What do you think of this new cross promotional deal between Post and WWE?
