WWE: 7 Reasons Why CM Punk vs. John Cena Should Not Happen Right Now
This past summer, John Cena and CM Punk faced off against each other in what was two epic singles matches.
While many fans thought that their feud could continue longer, it was rushed by WWE creative, and CM Punk was placed into a feud with Triple H.
The feud between CM Punk and John Cena could and should happen in the future, but I think the WWE should wait a bit.
Today, I am going to list seven reasons why. This list is based on current WWE story lines and the product as a whole.
We Just Saw It This Past Summer
1 of 8CM Punk and John Cena competed against each other very recently.
Not only did they face off at Money in the Bank and SummerSlam, but also at Hell in a Cell with Alberto Del Rio.
I don't want CM Punk vs. John Cena to be another John Cena vs. Randy Orton type of feud.
It Would Make No Sense
2 of 8CM Punk has been intertwined into feuds with Alberto Del Rio and The Miz for a few months now.
Entering John Cena into the mix now that he's feuding with the returning Kane would make no sense at all.
Face vs. Face Feuds
3 of 8Unless the WWE is planning on turning John Cena like they did with Christian, the WWE really tries to stay away from face vs. face feuds.
I agree with the WWE on this one. Putting faces in a match against each other is great, but it can't evolve like a face vs. heel feud.
Cena Should Not Be in the Title Picture
4 of 8John Cena has been in 11 out of the 12 main events this year.
This year, John Cena also won three WWE Championships. Once against The Miz, once against Rey Mysterio and once against Alberto Del Rio.
This past week on RAW, John Cena gave up his opportunity to be in the main event so Zack Ryder could get a match for the United States Championship.
CM Punk Needs a Long Title Reign
5 of 8CM Punk defeated Alberto Del Rio at Survivor Series to capture the WWE Championship.
CM Punk, who is extremely over with the WWE Universe, deserves a long title reign.
If John Cena faced CM Punk, they might let him capture another WWE Championship to boost ratings (like they did with Alberto Del Rio).
Possible John Cena Heel Turn?
6 of 8This slide goes hand-and-hand with Slide No. 3.
If John Cena were to turn heel, the feud against CM Punk could be amazing.
Makes It More Important Next Time
7 of 8When CM Punk faced John Cena at Money in the Bank and SummerSlam, he never defeated Cena cleanly.
This automatically sets up a match between the two later on.
Also, if John Cena and CM Punk continue their dominance over WWE TV, I could see them turning into a John Cena/Triple H feud.
The matches between John Cena and Triple H were always made into a big deal, and they always showed a mutual level of respect toward each other.
