Knicks Rumors: Why Joey Graham Is a Better Fit Than Michael Redd

Here the New York Knicks go again, more and more offense. Are Tyson Chandler and Iman Shumpert going to be the only players added to shore up that aspect of the team?

Alex Kennedy of Hoopsworld.com, reported that the Knicks have reached out to Michael Redd. Why? Redd is coming off of an injury-riddled past three seasons that have seen him play just over 50 games total in that span. Even more, he is yet another player on the Knicks' radar, with no defensive acumen.

Do the Knicks not have enough offensive players with Carmelo Anthony, Amare Stoudemire, Toney Douglas, Mike Bibby and Landry Fields? Where will the balance come in for this team?

Joey Graham is no superstar by any stretch of the imagination, but at this point, it's about building a balanced team with your role players, and the Knicks don't even seem like they are trying to do that.

Graham is a rugged and tough player who could offer the Knicks a defensive presence they don't have anywhere on the perimeter.

I know Mike D'Antoni is trying to change the game, and Glen Grunwald is allowing this direction, but it isn't going to work.

The one saving grace for Knicks fans is this: When D'Antoni has failed to deliver, they will still have Anthony, Stoudemire and Chandler under contract after the 2012-13 season.

That is the best frontcourt in the NBA, if it were one committed to defending.

That should be enough time for the Knicks brass to see that they need to go in a different direction and abandon this offensive strategy of building a team.
