WWE: 5 Predictions for the Road to WrestleMania 28

0 of 5

With TLC last Sunday in Baltimore, we are drawing ever closer to WrestleMania season in WWE.

Though Royal Rumble isn't for another month, WWE always likes to hint at their matches early and begin developing rivalries months before.

As usual, WWE will surely be throwing us some curveballs this winter, but I will do my best to predict them.

1. Chris Jericho Returns on January, 2nd

1 of 5

Unless you are living under a rock, you have been following the mysterious "January 2nd" promos each week on Raw.

Initially it was believed to be yet another return of Undertaker, but inside sources have reported that WWE plans for Chris Jericho to return at the start of 2012.

As a Jericho fan, I certainly hope for Y2J's return, as he as been absent from WWE since September of 2010.

Sources have also indicated that WWE intends for Jericho to face CM Punk at WrestleMania 28, a match in which Jericho has expressed interest before.

Chris Jericho will save us once again on January 2nd, and he and Punk will put on a classic WrestleMania match, similar to Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels many years ago.

2. CM Punk Will Hold the WWE Championship Through WrestleMania

2 of 5

Ever since his epic promo on the last Raw of June, CM Punk has been the biggest superstar in WWE, and now he holds the biggest title in WWE.

At Royal Rumble, CM Punk will likely be involved in another WWE Championship match and retain against a worthy competitor.

In February, he will be defending the title inside the dreaded Elimination Chamber and once again be victorious.

CM Punk will enter WrestleMania and face the winner of the Royal Rumble in what should be a classic match.

3. Daniel Bryan Will Drop The World Heavyweight Championship...Unfortunately

3 of 5

Daniel Bryan is an excellent wrestler—I think everybody can agree on that.

But can everybody agree that Bryan is a ratings magnet? I think not.

Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Bryan Danielson fan, but Vince McMahon will be looking for any excuse to strip Bryan of his gold.

Is Daniel Bryan really ready to be the top face on SmackDown? My guess is no.

As much as I would love to see this exciting superstar hold the World Heavyweight Championship for an extended period of time, it just doesn't seem like a reality. With the way Bryan has been pushed, he won't enter Miami with the gold.

4. Chris Jericho Will Win The 2012 Royal Rumble

4 of 5

In his career, what hasn't Chris Jericho done?

Chris Jericho has never won the Royal Rumble.

With his return coming soon, it is the perfect chance for Jericho to finally earn this victory.

As reported, Jericho will face Punk for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania, and though he won't be successful, it will be another major accomplishment for Jericho to headline WrestleMania against Punk.

5. Randy Orton Will Enter WrestleMania As World Heavyweight Champion

5 of 5

At the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, Daniel Bryan will drop his World Heavyweight Championship to Randy Orton, and Orton will once again be the top face of SmackDown.

Though I am not particularly an Orton fan, Vince McMahon is, and Orton will be a major attraction for WrestleMania XXVII.

The Viper will put on an amazing performance at Elimination Chamber and have a lengthy title reign once again.
