WWE News: Has Chris Hero Finally Agreed to a Deal with WWE?

Former ROH star Claudio Castagnoli is now working in WWE’s developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling, as “Antonio Cesaro,” but fans can’t help but wonder why his ROH tag team partner Chris Hero isn’t with him.

Castagnoli and Hero combined to form the “Kings of Wrestling” in ROH, where they developed a reputation as one of the best tag teams in the world. As a result, it was widely assumed that both men would be coming to the WWE together, but that didn’t happen.

A report came out last week that Hero could still sign with the WWE at some point in the future, and Hero dropped another hint at an independent show this weekend that he could be WWE-bound.

From WrestleZone.com

Jacob and David sent in note that independent wrestler Chris Hero teased finally going to WWE. Hero spoke to the crowd after he loss his match at a Pro Wrestling Guerilla show this weekend.

Hero thanked fans for coming out and teased a special announcement and that that may be the last time we see him in a PWG ring.

Hero has been a PWG regular since his ROH days ended, so I think one of two things is going on here: Either Hero had to pull out of PWG bookings because of his upcoming involvement in the Wrestling Retribution Project, or he’s headed to the WWE.

I hope it’s the latter, though.

While the WWE hasn’t seemed to focus on tag team wrestling much over the past several years, this could be one of those huge signings that changes that.

Hero and Castagnoli as a team are about as good as it gets, and even though Castagnoli can succeed in the WWE without his former tag team partner, he could do the unthinkable and rejuvenate the WWE’s tag team division with him.

I’d be on the lookout for an announcement regarding Hero’s future from the man himself soon, and I wouldn’t even be remotely surprised if he revealed that he has finally signed with the WWE.

Then again, I wouldn’t get too excited about him coming to the company.

For all we know, he might not even end up teaming with Castagnoli, and he could stay down in FCW for a year or two like a certain former ROH star has.
