BCS Standings: Alabama vs. LSU Is National Title Game Fans Should Want to See

The 2011 college football season has come to a close, and fans should be happy that the BCS chose the LSU Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide to play for the national championship. 

You can hate the BCS all you want, but it did the right thing by giving college football fans the two best teams.

Other teams may have been screwed by the BCS in terms of BCS bowls, but the national championship game is spot on, and fans should welcome that. 

Yes, the two teams have already played each other once this year, and while the game lacked a ton of flair, it went into overtime, which is a good indication we're going to get a great title game. 

There's nothing more we could ask for in the championship game. 

The system is supposed to give us the best of the best going head-to-head, and that's exactly what we have. Too often there is a huge debate as to which team truly is the best, but in the 2011 season, LSU and Alabama have been head and shoulders above everyone else. 

Some fans believe Oklahoma State deserved a shot at the title, and while the Cowboys would have put up a fight, the game wouldn't be right. The Crimson Tide battling the Tigers one more time is what the championship ought to be, and fans should be glad the computers finally did something right. 

People will continue to argue this over the next month, but the bottom line is that LSU and Alabama are the two best teams. Since that's easy to see, they're the ones that must play in the biggest game of the all. 

I understand why fans may be outraged that a rematch is on, but they should realize the Tigers and the Crimson Tide are going to please them. Two teams coming down to the wire in the title game is what we dream of every year. 

Nobody wishes to see a blowout in the final college football game of the year, and that isn't going to happen. 

The heat is already on, as Alabama fans (allegedly) hacked LSU's official online shop, and the intensity for the title game will only get bigger. The hype will continue to build, and these two teams will live up to on the biggest stage. 

Both teams are insanely good at defense, ranking No. 1 and No. 2 in the country. They hate each other's guts, and they're going to have a close battle for all four quarters. 

So, sit back, stop the whining and just relax. The BCS National Championship Game is between the greatest two teams college football has to offer this year, and it's easily a game fans should be stoked to watch.
