WWE Opinion: 7 Reasons Rey Mysterio's Career Should End

Rey Mysterio can be considered a lot of things. He is a former World champion. He is a great role model. He paved the way for other superstars. He is a future WWE Hall of Fame member.

However, every career must come to an end at some point.

Today, I am going to list seven reasons Rey Mysterio should finish his career soon. This list is based on current WWE storylines.

He Has Already Made It to the Top

Like many other superstars before him, Rey Mysterio had a dream to become World champion.

After having successful runs as a World champion, there is not much else that he needs to accomplish.

He Can Leave on Top

Every superstar has a rise, a peak and then a decline.

Much like what HBK did, Mysterio should know when to hang up the boots.

The last thing we want is him turning into Flair or Hogan.

He Has Been in No New Feuds

Rey vs. CM Punk? Seen it.

Rey vs. Cody Rhodes? Seen it.

Rey vs. Dolph Ziggler? Seen it.

Rey vs. Alberto Del Rio? Seen it.

Long story short, Rey Mysterio has faced every superstar already. If he were to stay, creative wouldn't have many options for him.

His Gimmick Is Stale

What is his gimmick? The Ultimate Underdog?

His fans are kids and his merchandise has always been a gold mine.

But, in the words of The Miz: "Really?"

He is as stale, if not more, than WWE megastar John Cena.

New Superstars

For a long time, Rey Mysterio was the only one who attracted the Hispanic demographic to watch WWE.

Those days are officially over.

With stars like ADR, Sin Cara, Hunico, Epico and Primo, as well as other stars rumored to be signed soon, there is no need for him to stay.

He Would Get Lost in the Shuffle

As I stated on a previous slide, there are no feuds he could really be placed into that fans haven't already seen.

Aside from the rumored Sin Cara vs. Rey Mysterio match at WrestleMania 28, creative wouldn't have any options for him.

This would lead to Mysterio getting lost in the shuffle.

His Injuries

Rey Mysterio is currently out due to ongoing knee injuries.

He should end his career on his terms and not be forced to retire.
