Jerry Sandusky: Former Penn State Defensive Coordinator May Consider Plea Deal
Former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky has seen four alleged victims come forward since being arrested on Nov. 6 on charges of sexually abusing young boys.
And as more alleged victims potentially come forward, Sandusky's lawyer, Joe Amendola, said he may consider pleading guilty in exchange for a plea deal.
According to the grand jury report, which came after three years of investigation, Sandusky allegedly sexually abused eight boys in a period of 15 years while at Penn State.
He's seen the head coach he worked under, Joe Paterno, get fired for allegedly covering up his doings, as well as former Penn State president Graham Spanier.
In addition, receivers coach Mike McQueary and athletics director Tim Curley have been placed on administrative leave with pay.
Amendola has acknowledged that the case looks fairly damning.
Said Amendola when talking about a potential plea deal, via The Patriot-News:
""That could happen if more allegations come forth and Jerry gets to the point where he realizes fighting against more than the original allegations might be a real uphill battle. Bottom line, Jerry has always maintained his innocence, from the first allegation, and continues to maintain innocence. What happens with any additional charges which may be filed remains to be seen."
"
Amendola has claimed that he expects some of the victims to back off and say they weren't sexually abused by Sandusky, but that remains to be seen.
He's already formed a defense against the eight alleged victims.
