Week 13 Waiver Wire: Johnny Knox, Vince Young and Fantasy Studs Worth Adding

The fantasy playoffs are here for many leagues or will arrive a week or two away for others, so there is no better time to make sure your lineups are full of fantasy-point hounds.

While your team may be struggling, there are players like Vince Young and Johnny Knox available in an average of 70 percent of leagues scoring enough points to steal you a win.

The fantasy playoffs are where legends are born, but the best don’t win without a little help from their waiver-wire friends.

Johnny Knox

The departure of Jay Cutler was the kind of news that any fantasy owner of a Chicago Bears receiver dreads.

While the story was devastating at first, the truth is that Caleb Hanie may be turning Johnny Knox into his go-to deep threat. Four catches for 145 yards and a touchdown is a good start to their new relationship.

Knox can get behind the secondary, so it’s up to Hanie to stay upright long enough to sling the ball down the field. Expect more of the same against Kansas City and moving forward.

Vince Young

This is a situation you have to keep a close eye on, If Michael Vick doesn’t start, the ball will be in the hands of former Tennessee Titan Vince Young.

Against the New England Patriots last week, Young had 400 yards through the air. While he only had one touchdown, he showed the capability to have enormous games.

Be careful depending on Young if Vick tries to tough it out against the Seattle Seahawks. If you are looking to take a risk, this may be the one to make.

Maurice Morris

The Detroit Lions lost another running back on Thanksgiving when newly crowned starter Kevin Smith went down with an injury.

Again left to clean up the scraps, Morris rushed only seven times, but caught nine passes for 81 yards. In PPR leagues, that’s a huge day.

While Morris is a bigger risk in standard leagues, his lack of competition and ability to catch the ball will have the running back on the field often against the New Orleans Saints.
