Week 13 Waiver Wire: 4 Sleepers You Need to Pick Up
With the fantasy playoffs on the horizon, everyone is looking for that last sleeper that will either help them get into the playoffs or help them make a push for their league championship.
Here are three players that are flying under the radar and could help you achieve either of those goals.
4. Riley Cooper
Before Vince Young took over as the starter of the Eagles, Riley Cooper didn't have a catch the entire season. Since then, he has put up 8 catches, 146 yards, and a touchdown in his past two starts and has seen a lot of deep targets from Vince Young as the two have developed a nice rapport.
With Michael Vick looking improbable to start on Thursday against Seattle, Cooper should see more targets with Young under center and could have another good game. If you're in need of a wideout, give Cooper a look, he's available in most leagues.
3. Toby Gerhart
Toby Gerhart had a very nice fantasy day against the Falcons. With Adrian Peterson still ailing from an ankle sprain, Gerhart figures to get the bulk of the carries again this week against Denver. It's a medium matchup, but I think Gerhart has a chance to get you a cheap touchdown and have a solid performance.
He's available in about two-thirds of fantasy leagues, so if you're in need of a solid flex play that can give you a one-week fix to help you squeak into the playoffs, you should give Gerhart a look and pick him up off the waiver wire.
2. Damian Williams
Damian Williams has scored touchdowns in five of his last eight games. That's pretty good for a guy who isn't even the No. 1 receiver on his own team. He's had very solid fantasy performances in four of his past five games. Simply put, he's a great addition to a team that's looking for a third wide receiver or high-quality flex option.
Williams also has highly favorable matchups in the playoffs: against the Colts in Week 15 and Jacksonville in Week 16. So for any team looking to win a title, he's a guy that could be very big down the stretch and could put up some surprisingly big numbers in the semi-finals and championship games, should you get there.
He's available in about 75% of leagues, so if you have the chance, scoop him up off the waiver wire.
1. Donald Brown
Donald Brown has been very good from a fantasy perspective in all of his past four games. He's lacked consistency throughout his career, but it seems he's finally hitting his stride.
In his last game Brown ran for 80 yards and a touchdown. He's seeing much more carries than teammate Joseph Addai and it seems it'll stay that way for the rest of the season. He plays Baltimore in Week 14 which will be tough, but if you can get to the semifinals or finals of your league, he has good matchups against the Titans and the Texans.
If he's available in your league and he's available in about 85% of them, pick him up.
