Well, football fans, it's finally here: the last week of conference play until the BCS Bowls are decided and doled out.
Some teams are sitting pretty on a conference title while others are sweating bullets in the last dwindling days of the season.
Here are the conferences by my count and the top dogs hoping for a chance to duke it out in a a final showdown of the year.
LSU moved one step closer to the BCS Championship game by crushing Arkansas. Only the Georgia Bulldogs stand in the way between the rematch with Alabama.
If Oklahoma State can somehow beat Oklahoma in convincing fashion, could they vault to the No. 2 spot in the polls? If so, THEY could be playing in the BCS Championship game.
Wisconsin won the Leaders Division of the Big 10 by crushing Penn State. Only Michigan State stands in the way of the Badgers playing in the Rose Bowl.
USC is playing like one of the top teams in the country after their devastation of UCLA (a leading cause for UCLA head coach Neuheisel’s dismissal). Also, QB Matt Barkley might be the best quarterback in the country.
Virginia Tech showed that they just might deserve their No. 5 National Ranking by destroying Virginia 38-0. If they beat Clemson, they will go to a BCS Bowl game.
North Carolina State
West Virginia continued their push for the Big East title by tripping up Pittsburgh 21-20. A victory at South Florida can give them a share of the conference title.
The undefeated Cougars continued their dream season by crushing Tulsa 48-16. If they defeat Southern Mississippi this week, they will earn their first BCS bid.
TCU easily defeated Colorado State to move one step away from the Mountain West championship. They only need the victory against an undermanned UNLV squad to claim the crown.
San Diego State
Ohio clinched the MAC East Division with a win over Miami of Ohio. They will face Northern Illinois to decide the MAC champion.
Notre Dame put up a strong effort against Stanford, but eventually fell 28-14. The Fighting Irish will now have to wait to see what Bowl Game they will be playing in.
Arkansas State clinched the Sun Belt Title by beating Middle Tennessee State 35-19 to wrap up their most successful football season in school history. Only a meaningless game against Troy awaits the Red Wolves.
North Texas State
Middle Tennessee State
Louisiana Tech surprisingly clinched the WAC title by defeating New Mexico State and to finish the conference season with a 6-1 record.
San Jose State
New Mexico State
