The Carolina Hurricanes may be interested in trading Tomas Kaberle just a few months after signing the puck-moving defenseman, according to TSN's Darren Dreger.

Kaberle currently carries a $4.25 million cap hit, which was a bit of a surprise after a subpar finish to his 2010-2011 season.

However, some teams still might show some interest in Tomas Kaberle. Here are the most likely potential suitors.

Montreal Canadiens

The Montreal Canadiens are off to a slow start to the season, so it's not a huge surprise to see them involved in trade rumors.

Erik Cole hasn't made the impact they had hoped for and there is a chance that he could wind up back in his old home of Carolina.

The trade would benefit both teams.

St. Louis Blues

The St. Louis Blues have some talented young defensemen on their roster, but it does not appear that they are ready to carry the load just yet.

The Blues currently have the worst power play in the NHL and could use a talented puck mover like Kaberle to help with the man advantage and groom the young kids.

New Jersey Devils

The New Jersey Devils are right in the thick of things in the Eastern Conference playoff race, but their power play is killing them right now.

That happens to be one of the few areas of strength in Kaberle's game.

New York Rangers

The New York Rangers are starting to look like a true contender in the Eastern Conference, but they are definitely feeling the absence of Marc Staal.

The Rangers have the 23rd-ranked power play in the NHL; Tomas Kaberle would be an interesting addition for New York.

Toronto Maple Leafs

It's well documented that Tomas Kaberle very much enjoyed his days in Toronto, and the Leafs have some pieces that they could move to snag Kaberle if they wanted to make a deal.

Maybe Kaberle just needs to be back in a familiar setting to find his game.

Columbus Blue Jackets

The Columbus Blue Jackets have been deplorable this season, so they would be willing to do anything to shake things up.

The power play is one of many issues for this team; Kaberle would improve that and provide some much needed depth on the backend.

Washington Capitals

Mike Green has spent some time out of the lineup this season and his absence kills the Capitals.

The Caps could use another puck mover on the point to provide a bit of depth and Kaberle could be that guy.

Dallas Stars

If it wasn't for Kaberle's hefty cap hit, he may be an option for the Dallas Stars, who have a pretty mediocre power play this season.

With Kari Lehtonen's recent injury, defensive depth will be more important than ever for the Stars.

Minnesota Wild

The Wild are enjoying some of the best success they have seen in years, but they could use a bit more production from their power play and offense.

Another puck mover on the point would certainly help things.

Anaheim Ducks

It's almost time to panic in Anaheim.

The Ducks are off to a terrible start and need to start to think about shaking things up.

Plus, Kaberle would be a great mentor for Cam Fowler.
