Former UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio "Shogun" Rua came away from his fight with Dan Henderson having lost a unanimous decision, but it came from what was truly one of the greatest fights in UFC history.

The back-and-forth war lasted the full five-round distance, and when the 48-47 scorecards were announced across the board, Henderson walked away the victor.

In the co-main event, Cung Le's UFC dreams came to a halt when he was stopped by Wanderlei Silva in the second round.

Other fighters who came up short on the main card include Brian Bowles, Rick Story and Kyle Kingsbury.

This is what's next for them.

Kyle Kingsbury Loses to Stephan Bonnar by Unanimous Decision

Kyle Kingsbury took a step up in competition in facing Ultimate Fighter 1 veteran Stephan Bonnar, and it proved to be too much of a step up after he lost a unanimous decision over three rounds.

Bonnar was able to out-wrestle and control Kingsbury on the ground, and it broke a four-fight win streak that preceded for the Ultimate Fighter competitor.

For Kingsbury's next fight, he will need to regain his momentum in facing the loser of the upcoming Vladimir Matyushenko vs. Alexander Gustafsson bout.

Rick Story Loses to Martin Kampmann by Unanimous Decision

After losing two in a row, Martin Kampmann was motivated and determined to defeat Rick Story in their welterweight matchup, and he did just that when he won a unanimous decision after 15 minutes.

Story now drops two fights back-to-back with his other loss coming against Charlie Brenneman. This is a big setback when considering the success he had against Thiago Alves earlier this year.

He will have to take a step back in facing one of the lower-tier welterweight fighters. Maybe the loser of the upcoming Josh Neer vs. Duane Ludwig bout, or Amir Sadollah.

Cung Le Loses to Wanderlei Silva by TKO in the Second Round

Former Strikeforce middleweight champion Cung Le had success against Wanderlei Silva before being stopped in the second round after "The Axe Murderer" unleashed a brutal flurry of knees and punches.

At 39, Le might not have the time to get to the top, but he can still compete with the mid-tier middleweights and may be able to get a shot a top 10 fighter if he chooses to keep fighting.

An interesting fight could come against Brian Stann or Chris Leben, both of whom are coming off losses.

Brian Bowles Loses to Urijah Faber by Submission in Round 2

Brian Bowles had only one loss on his record preceding his fight to Urijah Faber, and that was to Dominick Cruz.

With the second-round submission loss now on his record against "The California Kid," Bowles will remain a top 10 bantamweight, but one that needs to beat one of the top fighters in the division to secure that spot.

A fight against Demetrious Johnson should be next.

Mauricio Rua Loses to Dan Henderson by Unanimous Decision

Mauricio "Shogun" Rua made it 25 minutes with Dan Henderson and walked away defeated after five rounds of memorable action inside the Octagon.

It was his second loss this year, with the first coming against Jon Jones in March. A victory over Forrest Griffin in Brazil didn't let him go out of 2011 without getting a win.

With the loss, Rua will not get the rematch against Jon Jones, but he can take on Quinton "Rampage" Jackson on the Japan card in February.
