Wanderlei Silva is a veteran of over 40 fights, but even now he's still surprising us.

The Pride legend put on an excellent fight against eclectic striker Cung Le and, for the last moments of the fight, reminded us of the Wanderlei Silva of old.

So what could one fight have possibly taught the MMA world about a man who has over three-dozen fights? Read and find out!

His Chin Is Still Very Suspect

Cung Le was never known as a power striker. He has surgical precision and some amazing techniques, but he didn't put guys out with one hit; it was the one hit after the dozens he already landed to soften his opponent up that did the job.

Despite this, he had Wanderlei Silva in a daze throughout the early portion of the fight; he nearly knocked out the Brazilian on many occasions. This proved that Leben's victory over Silva wasn't a fluke or anything of the sort, Silva's chin is just deteriorating.

His Cardio Is Excellent Despite His Age

Cardio was the weapon with which Silva beat Cung Le.

Le was tagging Silva and picking him apart until he began to tire. As the fight went on, Le never caught his second wind while Silva was able to turn the pace up and finish Le.

Silva, despite being 35 and having lots of mileage on him, has great cardio.

He Is Still Loved by the Fans

The UFC's incredible brand recognition and influence over MMA history hasn't erased the legendary status that Wanderlei Silva has amongst fans.

The San Jose crowd met his victory over the local Le with an uproar of cheers. Wanderlei Silva was 'back' and it was a joyous occasion.
