WWE 12: Randy 'Macho Man' Savage's Inclusion Makes New Video Game a Must-Buy

As if there wasn't already enough hype surrounding the release of the WWE 12 video game on Nov. 22, the recently announced inclusion of Randy "Macho Man" Savage as downloadable content makes this game a must-buy for any past and present fan of the WWE.

Savage had been absent from WWE video games for years prior to WWE All-Stars this year. It was rumored that the late Savage, who died of a heart attack in May, had only agreed to appear in WWE All-Stars, so his inclusion in WWE 12 came as a surprise to many.

While it's true that Savage could have been created by using the game's comprehensive create-a-wrestler mode, the in-game models always turn out better. Also, being included in the game as downloadable content means that all of Savage's moves and mannerisms will be included, as well as his entrance and iconic entrance music.

For fans of the current product, Savage's inclusion may not make much of a difference, but classic fans who were on the fence about buying the game may be influenced to do so thanks to Savage being available.

I enjoy the WWE currently, but I consider myself more of a fan of the time frame from the late 1980s through the Attitude Era. Even so, I had already decided to buy the game due to the new features and improved gameplay, but Savage being in the game is like the cherry on top.

Savage will mesh extremely well with the great roster of legends that were previously announced, including Kevin Nash, Arn Anderson, the Legion of Doom, Demolition and so many more. Not only will you be able to use Savage with other wrestlers from his era, but you can create dream matches as well.

Perhaps the most popular dream match among gamers will be Savage vs. CM Punk. Following Savage's death, Punk paid tribute to the Macho Man by wearing the same style trunks that Savage wore during his early years with the WWE.

Like Savage, Punk has a very charismatic personality and is fantastic in the ring. Because of that, the two competitors likely would have meshed well together if afforded the opportunity to feud with each other.

The same could be said of an up-and-coming superstar like Dolph Ziggler. Savage, a former baseball player, was probably the most athletic wrestler of his time as he could do things that few of his peers were able to. The same can be said of Ziggler whose athleticism is evident every time he steps into the ring.

Every true fan of wrestling can't help but appreciate what Savage meant to the business. Although he hadn't been involved in wrestling in quite some time, his untimely death most certainly left an empty spot in the hearts of so many who thoroughly enjoyed his work.

While Savage's inclusion in WWE 12 may not completely fill that void, it will surely bring back some great memories for his fans.
