Week 11 Waiver Wire Pickups: Michael Bush and Fantasy Football Injury Fill-Ins

Josh MartinNov 14, 2011

Week 10 of the 2011 NFL season proved to be pleasantly productive for fantasy football fill-ins looking to pick up the slack for their injured counterparts. These three guys, in particular, did more than enough in the start of the second half of the campaign to merit at least some consideration from those of you still scouring the waiver wire for help.

Michael Bush, RB, Oakland Raiders

I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I've been tooting Michael Bush's horn for some time now. Bush has been brilliant since taking over for Darren McFadden and his sprained foot, turning in more than 100 total yards per game over his last three, including 212 yards and a touchdown against the Chargers on Thursday night.

A Chargers team, by the way, that came into the week with one of the stingiest defenses for opposing running backs to operate against. If Bush can bowl his way to those sorts of numbers against the Bolts, you can bet he'll keep producing against the likes of the Vikings, the Bears, the Dolphins and the Packers, even when D-Mac gets back.

Denarius Moore, WR, Oakland Raiders

Speaking of the Raiders, Jacoby Ford suffered a foot injury of his own against San Diego, which figures to be a big gain for Denarius Moore.

It certainly was on Thursday, when the rookie played pitch-and-catch with Carson Palmer to the tune of 123 yards and two touchdowns on five catches. That sort of chemistry is exactly what Palmer will need to be successful in Oakland.

All the better for Moore, who should have the freedom to run for days so long as Ford is sidelined. Then again, as with Bush, Moore should remain an integral piece of the Raiders' vertical passing once Ford is healthy enough to play again.

Laurent Robinson, WR, Dallas Cowboys

I'm not sure that any backup wide receiver has been better in a pinch this season than Laurent Robinson.

Scratch that. I'm sure that nobody in Robinson's role has been as successful as he has this season. He's been brilliant in relief of the hamstrung Miles Austin, piling up 441 yards and four touchdowns, including 73 yards and two touchdowns against the Bills on Sunday.

Seeing as how Austin's latest hamstring strain is his third of the season, he figures to be a health concern for the Cowboys over the rest of the season.

Read: keep Robinson around and in your lineup.
