What To Make of WWE's Fuzzy Title Picture??

Demetrus StokesAnalyst IJune 15, 2016

Predictions, predictions, predictions. It seems that a lot of us on B/R have our thoughts on who will win the Royal Rumble, and who will go on to face the champion at Wrestlemania.

While none of us truly know the answers to any of these questions, it's fun to provide our thoughts on what the answers may be.

So since everyone else has done it, I thought I would throw my name in the hat and try to clear up the title picture on both Smackdown and RAW going into Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania.

Let's start with RAW. John Cena is the current champion and there are a few possible opponets that he may face next.

Stephanie McMahon announced that all former champions will be in action next week and the winners of those matches will be in a fatal four way the next week and the winner of that match will face John Cena.

The matchups next week on RAW will be, Rey Mysterio vs. JBL, Shawn Michaels vs. Kane, Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk, and Batista vs. Randy Orton in an Armageddon rematch.

JBL will advance, as you can expect a Mike Knox run-in to cost Mysterio the match.  You can expect the same for Jericho's match with CM Punk as more than likely William Regal will make a run-in to cost Punk.

Shawn Michaels should come out on top against Kane and to sell his head injury, look for Batista to lose to Randy Orton.

That means on RAW in two weeks there will be a fatal four way match between JBL, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho and Randy Orton to determine the number one contender.

So who comes out on top?

The two favorites have to be Chris Jericho and Randy Orton.

JBL and Shawn Michaels look to be on a collision course to face each other so either one of them winning the fatal four way is unlikely.

I can't imagine that Batista and Orton's feud will only last through one pay-per-view.  Especially after Orton knocked Batista out on RAW last night.

So look for Chris Jericho to get one more shot at John Cena for the World Heavyweight Championship at Royal Rumble.

As far as the Royal Rumble goes, look for Cena to retain and go on to Wrestlemania.

Who will he face?

It's likely going to be Orton or Batista as I am picking them as my two favorites from RAW to win the Royal Rumble. I'll give a slight edge to Batista since heels rarely win the Rumble match.

It wouldn't surprise me if there was some type of wacky ending where both of their feet touch the ground and they both go to Wrestlemania and face Cena in a triple threat match (I'm not a fan of triple threat matches, so I hope this doesn't happen).

Or if a Smackdown superstar wins the Rumble, Batista would face Orton in a match at No Way Out and the winner faces Cena at Wrestlemania.

Smackdown's title picture pretty much centers around Triple H, Edge, and the new WWE Champion, Jeff Hardy.

But there is a interesting fourth party in the picture. That man is Vladimir Kozlov.

Kozlov made a run-in during the WWE title match at Armageddon.

Is he next in line to face Jeff Hardy for the title?

Triple H held the title forever (it seems like) so you have to think that he has to fall out of the title picture for at least a little while.  Then again he's Triple H so he'll probably stay in the title picture as long as he wants.

Edge will have some involvement in the title picture from now until Wrestlemania and with Vicki Guerrero by his side in addition to him just returning about a month ago, it's hard not to see him in the picture.

Kozlov's involvement in this whole thing is a mystery.

It seemed as if we may see Valdimir Kozlov make a run at Matt Hardy and the ECW Championship. That may still be a possibility but why then would Kozlov run-in on Jeff's match?

Kozlov has never received a one-on-one title opportunity. Could he get his shot at the Rumble while Edge and Triple H battle it out in the Royal Rumble match?

There are a couple of scenarios that could play out...

Hardy could go on to the Royal Rumble and face Kozlov or Triple H for the title. This will leave Edge as the Smackdown favorite to win the Rumble. Triple H also becomes a favorite in the Rumble if Kozlov gets the title shot.

Or (as Joe mentioned in his article) Hardy faces Edge at the Royal Rumble, drops the title to him and then enters the Rumble as a surprise entrant and wins.

There are two things wrong with this idea. If the plan is the have Hardy face Edge at Wrestlemania, you wouldn't want to spoil it with a match at the Royal Rumble. Second, dropping the title at the Rumble would make Jeff Hardy look really weak. Think Rob Van Dam a few years back.

So how will the title picture for both RAW and Smackdown shake out in the end?

At the Royal Rumble, John Cena will defend the World Heavyweight title against Chris Jericho and Jeff Hardy will defend the WWE Championship against Triple H.

Edge will win the Royal Rumble and go to Wrestlemania and face Jeff Hardy.

Batista will defeat Randy Orton in their rubber match for No. 1 contender and face John Cena at Wrestlemania.

Are you confused? Good! Glad I could clear things up for you! Gotta love the WWE!
