Penn State Video: Watch PSU Seniors United in Tunnel Before Nebraska Kickoff

Everyone is forgetting that this is the last home game ever for the current crop of Penn State University seniors.

Today is Senior Day in Happy Valley, but it is not the traditionally happy affair they are used to this week.

In what is supposed to be a farewell sendoff to these young men who have given their all throughout the years to the university is now being overshadowed by the horrifying allegations against Jerry Sandusky and the firing of Joe Paterno.

The senior players on the Nittany Lions decided to show their bond to one another and their team by gathering together during the national anthem.

It was a somber moment as you can see in the video but also one of tremendous character and pride for the veteran unit.

As seniors had their names announced, it was interim coach Tom Bradley who was standing with them, not Joe Pa, the man who recruited and coached these men up over the years.

Paterno’s seat at the front of the bus that takes the team to the stadium was reportedly left empty today in another wonderful show of support from the team.

The Nittany Lions and their opponents, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, gathered in the middle of the field shortly after this video and the stadium held a moment of silence to pray for the alleged victims.

It’s going to be a long climb back to prominence for Penn State, but winning today against the Cornhuskers would be a wonderful sendoff for the seniors who have had to watch their school’s reputation go from impeccable to destroyed in just a few short days.

These young men had nothing to do with what Sandusky allegedly did and they should not be vilified for it.

It should be a good game and one that finally turns the focus back onto football and off the scandal, at least for a little while.
