WWE: Why Big Show Cannot Defeat Mark Henry
"The winner and NEW World Heavyweight Champion!..The Big Show!"
Yeah, you won't hear those words anytime in the near future.
After Hell In A Cell, most wrestling fans expected Sheamus to resume his feud with Mark Henry. Instead, the WWE threw us a curveball and had Big Show beg for a title shot against the World's Strongest Man.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
This was a little stunning, but given the WWE's propensity for occasional odd booking decisions, it wasn't unexpected. Over the course of the feud, Big Show has taken Christian's "One. More. Match." mantra to another level. At first he pleaded with Henry to the point of begging. SmackDown GM Teddy Long gave Big Show the match.
At the match at Vengeance, the ring imploded from the near half-ton of humanity demonstrated various laws of Newtonian Physics. Of course, the match was declared No Contest. Did the feud end? Nope. Big Show decided to channel his inner Heel and threatened to put Henry on his arse to "state his case" for every week his request for another match went unanswered.
He did so later that night. After a near cash in by Daniel Bryan of the "Money In The Bank" briefcase, Henry laid out the American Dragon and was forced into the rematch by Long. On SmackDown the next week, Henry dismantled Daniel Bryan while Big Show destroyed three English Indy wrestlers.
But does Big Show deserve to go over Mark Henry? Ultimately, while some may feel Henry has had his time in the sun, I personally don't think he's gotten enough of a tan. The simple fact is Big Show has done nothing to deserve the World Heavyweight Championship.
Look at guys like Sheamus and Rhodes. Both men have been making fantastic strides with their characters. Sheamus has even defeated Henry on one occasion. Since coming back from his TV hiatus, Big Show has been painful on the mic and plodding in the ring.
For example, look at last November 4th's SmackDown. He managed to single highhandedly go over the heads of half the audience and forced a joke that was so awful, he made Seinfeld blush. His promo style is forced and without much emotion. Overall, he's been just plain bad on the stick.
His ring-work has left much to be desired as well. Aside from his match at Vengeance against Henry, his matches haven't been watchable. His last outing with Del Rio was just awful. His offense was mainly just punches. Yup. He spent about three quarters of his time on offense punching Del Rio in the gut.
Contrast that with Henry. Since turning heel, he's consistently stepped up on the microphone and in the ring. His matches with Orton and Sheamus came off much better then expected. His segment where he cowed Jim Ross was downright scary. He even carried Big Show through their match at Vengeance.
There are other things such as the fact Big Show is a Raw brand talent while the World Heavyweight Championship is a SmackDown title. But as we know, there are ubiquitous plot devices like Contract Loopholes and Talent Trades to alleviate those issues.
The most glaring thing that no plot device or editing can fix is that, as of right now, Mark Henry is on a higher level than Big Show. If Big Show defeats Henry anytime soon, it will be a travesty of the highest order.
