Are Chelsea Really Hunting For Bargains?
This time round we’re being told Scolari’s preferred choice of Kenwyne Jones could be out of his reach at £9million, so the Chelsea boss could opt for either Emile Heskey or Kevin Davies with their lower £3million price tags suiting his budget a little better.
The fact that neither of them are anywhere near as prolific in front of goal as we need is irrelevant as far as the press are concerned because they’re cheap.
Anyway, as if to back this up, a Chelsea "insider" is quoted as saying:
“All three are similar players who would give Chelsea a totally different option and that’s something we desperately need. Okay, they might not score a lot of goals themselves but they are all a handful and can create havoc in any defence. The fact is, the days of big spending are over...and they won’t be back for a while.”
Surely even the tea ladies could come up with something a bit better than this "insider"?
