The Rock's Return: 7 Reasons a John Cena vs. Rock Feud Is a Great Idea
As WWE kicks it into high gear for Survivor Series, the WWE universe is getting ready to see The Rock make his return to the ring in "the world's most famous arena," Madison Square Garden.
Today, we are going to look at the feud between The Rock and John Cena and different aspects leading up to their epic Wrestlemania match.
I am going to list seven reasons why this feud is going to be nothing short of great.
Merchandise Sales Will Be Through the Roof
Over the past several years, their has been an economic decline. A lot of businesses got affected, including the WWE.
Stock prices for the WWE have been on a steady decline for the past couple of years and it is definitely noticeable with the constant cuts of superstars.
Thankfully for the WWE, John Cena and The Rock can sell out in any arena. The WWE will definitely be pushing merchandise sales all the way to Miami.
John Cena debuted new clothes are ring gear at Vengeance, and The Rock will probably debut new gear the week before Survivor Series. Expect sales to skyrocket at Madison Square Garden!
The Buildup Is Perfect
People usually complain that story lines never get to reach their full potential because they are either rushed or end to early.
The WWE has an entire year to build up this feud to make fans excited to see the match. On top of that, the WWE already layed the foundation well before Wrestlemania 27. Now it's just a matter of heating things up.
The Rock Is Serious About This
How many veterans ask to have a tune up match?
How many veterans request to train with their opponents to practice?
Guess what, The Rock did!
He knows how big this is supposed to be and he wants to do his part. I have a lot of respect for him.
It Adds Star Power
The main reason why the WWE keeps bringing back megastars is because there is not enough star power on the shows right now.
With the losses of HBK, Batista, Jeff Hardy, Chris Jericho and Edge (all within a 3 year period), no one was able to fill the voids left.
Although bringing The Rock back does help the WWE, it isn't permanent. However, it gives the WWE some much needed time to build their rising stars.
The Rock Returns to Action
Hold up just one minute! I just remembered The Rock is back!
In just a couple of weeks, fans get to see what The Rock does best: Laying the Smackdown!
"Never Before. Never Again."
How many times can we see The Rock and John Cena team together?
How many times can we see them facing two rising stars in the company at a Big Four pay-per-view?
The Answer? Once in a lifetime.
The WWE is pulling out all the stops to make this pay-per-view matter again.
Dream Match on the Grandest Stage of Them All
What do you get when you put two megastars in a first-time-ever dream match up? You get an epic clash between The PG Era (John Cena) and the Attitude Era (The Rock)!
April 1st, 2012 is the day of Wrestlemania 28. It's about time WWE gets the ball rolling!
