Finally! Baseball Winter Meetings Here I Come

It’s been a long time coming, but I am finally going to be able to attend the Baseball Winter Meetings. 

I have been running The GM’s Perspective for just over three years now and I have been able to put together some good stories, interviews and all-around decent work that focuses on, perhaps, some news that might not be the most mainstream. 

I tend to shift my focus toward Independent Baseball and I attempt to look at it from the eyes of a General Manager. With some Independent League experience, I hope to engage my audience with personal experiences and general knowledge that might make a reader stand up and take notice. 

So, now that I have the chance to go to the Winter Meetings, I am really looking forward to feeling the excitement of the offseason, witnessing first-hand what transpires behinds closed doors so to speak.

I believe this will be chance to learn just by watching, watching how the “players” in the game get the scoops, maneuver their way around the room, and how to handle yourself in the midst of some pretty important people. 

According to baseballwintermeetings.com “representatives from all 30 Major League Baseball organizations and more than 160 Minor League Baseball teams will be joined by various league offices, companies associated with baseball and guests from international baseball-playing countries to celebrate and honor the achievements of the 2011 season”. 

While I am there you can expect up to the minute updates and some ongoing dialogue of my first-time experience. 

Needless to say, I can’t wait for early December when I get on that plane destined for Dallas.
