Week 7 Waiver Wire: Jackie Battle and More Explosive Free Agents You Must Add

Matt FaulconerOct 17, 2011

Jackie Battle exploded before the Kansas City Chiefs bye and is going to continue exploding. Battle has seized the starting RB job for the Chiefs, and head coach Todd Haley loves his progress up to this point.

Todd Haley recently spoke to the Kansas City Star about Battle:

"

We knew guys were going to get opportunities with the situation we’re in losing Jamaal. But I’m just happy Jackie has seized his opportunity—and he’s getting better. Like anybody, getting to play and gain some experience has been really huge for him.

It sounds like Haley has his guy now, and appears confident moving forward with Battle as the starting RB. He is still available in nearly 75 percent of ESPN fantasy leagues.

With opportunity generally comes production, and Battle can only go up from here. He's averaging 5.4 yards per carry to this point, and is ready to continue his surge to the top of the depth chart.

Tim Tebow (QB, Denver Broncos)

It's time for the Tebow train.

Tebow has put up solid fantasy points when given an opportunity, including 18 points in standard scoring leagues during just the second half against the San Diego Chargers.

The biggest asset for Tebow on the fantasy front is his mobility. Tebow is going to pick up plenty of yards on the ground, which makes for some extra fantasy points. If Tebow can pick up 60 yards on the ground, it basically adds a TD to his stats.

Tebow has solid upside, even if the Broncos trade Brandon Lloyd before the deadline, he still has a chance to be an impact player this season on your fantasy team.

Doug Baldwin (WR, Seattle Seahawks)

It's been a common assumption for quite sometime that somebody had to catch the ball in Seattle.

It looks like that WR may in fact be Baldwin. In the Seahawks last game before their bye week, he caught eight passes for 136 yards, and added a touchdown.

He caught five passes for 84 yards the week before that, and is quickly proving that he has a ton of fantasy upside.

If Baldwin ends up as the top fantasy option in Seattle he will have plenty of value as a potential WR2.
