UConn Basketball Video: Watch Huskies' Insane Dunk Contest on First Night

Not hyped about UConn basketball this season? You must not have seen the video of the dunk contest the Huskies put on. Collegiate dunk contests are usually lacking. Collegiate dunk contests between members of the same team are usually a snooze fest.

The Huskies managed to put on a show. UConn has a number of guys who don't just throw it down, but do so in spectacular fashion. Superstar Jeremy Lamb threw down a huge windmill, Alex Oriakhi snatched the ball from mid-air and threw down a monster 360 and Andre Drummond pulled off an insane between-the-legs jam.

The real show was in the collaborative dunks though. The team dazzled fans with their off-the-backboard, jumping over one another dunks. This didn't look like just another cheap ploy to get fans excited about the season, it looked like a half-time show.

UConn has a lot to be hopeful for this season. Though Kemba Walker leaving for the NBA leaves behind a huge void, the Huskies have a great shot at making a deep run this season. They're going to need their fan base more than ever though.

That's what makes this dunk contest the perfect way to hype up the fan base. We're still miles away from March, but the path to creating one of the best home environments in the country starts now.

The season is right around the corner and this was a great way for the Huskies to show their fans and the world just how much talent and athleticism they've got on their roster.

The electric atmosphere that was created at the dunk contest is bound to carry over into the season. Now it's not just UConn fans who can't wait to see the Huskies in action, it's the entire nation.
