Flyers-Devils: Philadelphia Loses Game and Gagne

BREAKING NEWS- Before you read game summary below. SIMON GAGNE did not return to the bench for the start of the third period. GM Paul Holmgren spoke about his wingers status.

Notes: The Flyers are coming into this game with a 12-7-5 record are coming off an exciting overtime victory over the Tampa bay Lightning on Tuesday night. Danny Briere for those who haven't heard, will be out for the next month with a severe groin strain.

The Flyers are 7-1-2 in their last 10 games, and 11-1-3 when scoring first. The Devils are coming in at 12-8-2, and are 5-5 in their last 10 games. The Devils are 8-2-1 when scoring first.

Notes: Patrick Elias' overtime goal was his 15th career, he is now in a three-way tie for all-time overtime goals with Jaromir Jagr and Mats Sundin. The Flyers scored both goals on the powerplay where they went 2/5 on the night.

Very sloppy play from the Flyers in the third and overtime periods. Martin Biron continued his struggles handling the puck, and some work is needed there. They deserved to lose this game. Luckily they got a point out of this disaster.

The Flyers will look to rebound Saturday night when they head to Raleigh to play the Carolina Hurricanes at 7pm.
