Let's face it.  Neither Hopkins or Dawson are exciting fighters and unless a miracle occurs on Saturday, so will the fight.

Boxing fans have never let that stop them from watching a fight before though.  From John Ruiz to Shannon Briggs and every Klitschko fight, boxing fans have continued to watch the sport they love even if the fights in question are less than anticipated.  As long as there is good technical boxing, fans will watch.

Since tomorrow will be no exception here are some helpful tips to getting through the main event without falling asleep.

Drink Lots of Coffee or Energy Drinks

Usually alcohol is what most fight fans go for when Saturday night hits.

Don't.

Alcohol is a depressant and will make any fight fan sleepy and tired.  Mix that in with the action, or lack there of going on in the ring, and it means that a fan might not make it past the sixth round.

Anyone wanting to make it through this fight should opt for shots of espresso instead of whiskey and bottles of red bull instead of beer.

Drinking that much caffeine on a regular basis is dangerous and shouldn't be done, but it might just be necessary to make it through the fight.

Shadowbox In-Between Rounds

Not only is this good exercise, it will help keep fans energized and awake.

Neither fighter is known for throwing punches, but if Hopkins has his way the fight might slow to a crawl. Fans who are hoping to see lots of punches thrown can do so themselves.

It will not only help fans to see the action they want, but it's great for cardio too.

Plus fans will be so winded from the one minute intervals that they won't have the energy to scream in frustration at their TV's when the fight slows and gets ugly.

Clip Coupons

Considering the fight is on HBO pay-per-view, fans will have to spend over 50 dollars to watch this match it is a good way to get through the fight.

When the action starts running slower than dial-up, Internet fans might want to pull out there ad section from the mail and start cutting coupons out.  That way they can help recoup some of the money they spent on Saturday's card and feel better about their purchase.

Fans should just remember to put down the scissors if the fight gets exciting or they get too frustrated.

Nobody wants to see either fighter or fan go to the emergency room after the match.

Set Some Mood Music

If the fight is going slow, fans can put on some music to help the mood.

In action movies the combat scenes are helped out by either loud rock, metal anthems, or rap music.  Any style is fine and if a fan prefers something else they can use that instead.

The music will keep fans' energy levels pumped and might even give them a different perception of how the fight is going.  It may make it difficult for fans who are watching the others to talk, but if this tip is needed to make the fight interesting, does anyone really want to talk?

Mood music might also help break down awkward conversations about the money spent on the fight and where it could have gone.

Write an Article for the Bleacher Report

If a fan is feeling frustrated by the fight then they could turn that frustration into a great piece for the site.

Instead of venting in silence they can help themselves relieve stress from the fight and also give a forum for other fight fans who are feeling the same way.

Or, a fan could write an article detailing how the fight is going.  Though the round-by-round descriptions might be sparse, having to focus on what might happen in the ring will make the fan pay attention and keep their spirits up.

Plus having other fans comment on their article as the fight is going on will give them other people to suffer with.
