TCU Big 12: Big Announcement Set for Tonight Shouldn't Surprise Anyone

The TCU Horned Frogs will make an announcement tonight regarding their athletics, and it's very unlikely it's news we haven't already heard. 

College Football Talk tweeted the news earlier today, which only gave me a chuckle, considering we've known for a few days now that TCU plans to join the Big 12. 

Typically, these announcements happen in the daytime, but I guess the Horned Frogs want to be present in the news during a prime time slot. It's a little strange that TCU wouldn't just go ahead and state what we already know, but this is their moment and you have to let them have it.

The little sister in the state of Texas has long coveted a spot in the Big 12, and now they have one.

TCU wanted so bad to be in one of the power six conferences that they were going to forget about geography and join the Big East. Luckily for the Horned Frogs, the Big 12 came calling in order to avoid collapsing. I've said countless times that the Big 12 should have added TCU a year ago, and who knows, maybe then the Texas A&M Aggies would decide to stay.

The Aggies had issues with the greedy Texas Longhorns, so it's tough to know if they would've actually stayed in the conference or not.

Instead, the Big 12 decided to be patient and ultimately brought in a team a year too late.    This announcement will be a great one not just for football at TCU but all sports. The Horned Frogs greatly benefit from joining the Big 12, and they will become a better program in the coming years. 

Would we love to see other news happen at this announcement? Absolutely, because everybody loves new breaking news. But it's doubtful TCU will tell us something that we don't already know.
