Manuel Almunia (6.5): An awful throw which then led to a Chelsea goal, but after that was rather solid.

Bacary Sanga (7): Kept the right flank safe and tidy. Also attacked nicely, working well with Denilson. Arsenal really missed their French defender in recent weeks.

Johan Djourou (7): Despite putting the ball into his own net, was very solid.

William Gallas (7.5): Played nicely against his former club and looks to be getting back into form.

Gael Clichy (8): Was very damaging in attack at times and as usual kept the left side safe.

Denilson (7): Has been poor; recently improved a whole lot against Chelsea. At times looked very damaging.

Cesc Fabregas (9): Captain Courageous was outstanding and was involved in every good thing for Arsenal.

Alexandre Song (7.5): His best game this season as his midfielding defence was superb.

Samir Nasri (7): Some say uninvolved, but it was a solid effort by the French winger and when he had the ball he did not put a foot wrong. His vital pass to Denilson set up van Persie for his first.

Robin van Persie (9): In Robin We Trust. The two-goal hero was the only real player who created chances and took them.

Emmanuel Adebayor (6.5): Not his best performance with his first touch close to the usual Bendter.

Substitutes

Nicklas Bendter (7): Was actually not that bad when he came on and did his best to get on the score sheet.
