Sidney Crosby took home the NHL First Star of the Week Honors for his performance last week. He led all scorers during the week with nine points (6G, 3A) in three games.

With his second career hat trick the other night, Sid took over the goal-scoring lead for the Pens with 13 for the season.

Sid's teammate, Evgeni Malkin, also picked up some hardware on the first day of Dec.

Gino was named the NHL's Second Star of the Month for Nov, and racked up 23 points (7G, 16A) in 12 games, leading the Pens to a 9-1-2 record in the month.

Alex Ovechkin took home the First Star of the Month honors as well. He then signed a two year contract extension with GEICO to appear in 12 more cavemen commercials.

Gino took solid control of the NHL Scoring Race, posting 39 points this season, which is five better than Sid.

Check out the premier of my new Internet radio show, "The Boys of Winter: Pittsburgh Penguins Weekly," which airs Tuesday afternoon around 1:30 PM. If you can't listen live, check the YouCastr widget on the left sidebar of Experiencing the Evolution to listen to the archived edition of the premier episode.

I'll also be making an appearance on Toronto-based Penguin fan, as well as, fellow Bleacher Report writer Jeremy Othmer's radio show "Penguin Talk." This will air later this week.

There's a good Western Conference game on tonight, as the Minnesota Wild take on the Colorado Avalanche at 8:00 PMEST.

The Avs don't score many goals and the Wild don't give too many up, so this may be one of the more boring games of the season. If Mike Emrick is wearing the headset for VERSUS, this might just be the worst three hours of your week.

Let's GO Pens!
