It’s finally time. It’s time for the fantasy football playoffs, and while it’s sad to see the end of the season on the horizon, it’s also that wonderful time when champions are forged.

By now your roster should be set but in case it’s not we bring you another installment of the weekly waiver aimed at filling any cracks on your team.

And remember you can always visit our forums to get your questions about waiver wire candidates as well as all other things fantasy football.

QUARTERBACKS

Ben Roethlisberger (Pittsburgh Steelers)— Coming into the season, it was believed that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger would have his best year to date. Injuries across the board on offense derailed those thoughts but Roethlisberger has picked it up in recent weeks.

The last three games, all wins, he tallied 730 passing yards with three touchdowns and just one interception.

The schedule for Roethlisberger and the Steelers down the stretch isn’t great, as they must taken on Dallas, Baltimore, Tennessee, and Cleveland. However, Roethlisberger typically fares well in pressure situations and late in the season. If your quarterback situation is shaky, Roethlisberger is worth a look.

Jeff Garcia (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) — Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jeff Garcia performance last week against New Orleans wasn’t great. He got the win but completed just nine of 23 passes. Still, he had 119 yards and a touchdown. He now has eight touchdowns and just three interceptions on the season while completing 67.2 percent of his passes.

Garcia as a Buccaneer has been very efficient with the football. He is not going to go out and throw for 300 yards and three touchdowns. But with just one interception in his last seven games, he is a safe pick that can bolster a lineup.

RUNNING BACKS

Peyton Hillis (Denver Broncos)— Michael Pittman, Selvin Young, Andre Hall and Ryan Torain are all either hurt or too inconsistent to play for the Denver Broncos right now.

That leaves Peyton Hillis, a rookie who was the third back to be drafted out of Arkansas in the draft behind Darren McFadden and Felix Jones.

Hillis played fullback in college but has since taken over primary ball-carrying duties for the Broncos and has shined. The last three games he’s racked up 247 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Last week against the New York Jets, he rushed 22 times for 129 yards and a touchdown.

He would make for a great flex option in any league.
