Kendall Holt Vs. Ricardo Torres III: The Rubber Match

Many people say a third time is a charm, and others will say three strikes, you're out. But what will people say after the rubber match between Kendall Holt-Ricardo Torres comes to a close?

Top Rank Promotions will be hosting the trilogy finale on Dec. 13, at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, and also aired on Showtime. The WBO junior welterweight title will be on the line.

Kendall Holt (24-2 with 13 KO) won the the WBO junior welterweight title in a rematch against Ricardo Torres by a knockout an 61 seconds of the first round.

Coming back after two flash knockdowns, Holt caught Torres with an overhand right that sent Torres hanging on the ropes for the KO win.

With that last minute desperation punch that stopped Torres from finishing the job he started when the bell rang, Holt became the new WBO junior welterweight champion.

Avenging the defeat Torres gave him in their first meeting, Holt felt he was only giving what he was supposed to already have. Kendall Holt and trainer felt the first defeat was controversial anyway, due to fans throwing drinks and items in the ring.

This enabled Holt to defend himself when the referee stopped the bout in the 11th round although Torres seemed to have him in trouble in the 10th.

Ricardo Torres (32-2 with 28 KO) and two loss defeated Kendall Holt by TKO in the 11th round. Torres was behind on the judges cards and wasn't able to gain momentum from behind until the tenth round which led to the controversial stoppage in the 11th round. Ricardo Torres came out of the corner after winning the tenth round, and begun to attack Kendall Holt in his corner until the Ref stepped in.

In the rematch, tired of the accusations of early stoppage, Torres came out in a fury, knocking down Holt twice in the first 30 seconds. After the second knockdown, Ricardo Torres rushed in to get the first round stoppage, and was caught with a counter over hand right stopping him in his tracks. Ricardo Torres flew into the ropes and was down for the count.

This was Ricardo's second lost both coming by the way of knock out the first, came from Miguel Cotto and know from Holt. Only this time it took him awhile to get up and then he was taken to the hospital were was informed that he had concussion.

Know the fight continues in the 13th round with each fighter rewarded with a KO. Ricardo Torres in their a 11th round meeting, and the second fight started like they came out for the 12th with Kendall Holt getting the KO.

It's hard to pick a winner between to guys that have the power to hurt the other, so my prediction is entertainment. We may see drama, action, or even history. You never know, but it will be one to watch.
