According to a new interview with CM Punk he has been working long and hard on trying to get the WWE ice cream bars back for not just himself but for all WWE fans. On WWE's website when asked about his inspiration about his new shirt that was worn by him on RAW this past week he had a lot to say.
“My inspiration for the shirt? I want the freakin’ ice cream bars back! I’m still working on that. But in the meantime, I’m going to keep shoving it down people’s throats. Because everyone likes ice cream, which goes in your mouth and then goes down your throat."
The humor of CM Punk is very present in the comment along with he determination to get the ice cream bars back. CM Punk first made mention of the WWE ice cream bars two months ago in a segment with Vince McMahon. It was the contract signing the week before the highly praised WWE PPV "Money in the Bank."
When it was first mentioned it was trending on Twitter and fans made a lot of noise on the Good Humor website by requesting for it to be made. With its popularity it seemed as though Good Humor would apply but later made a statement that indicated that it would not be happening as it states below.
"Thank you for writing us regarding Good Humor. The product you have contacted us about has been discontinued. Our company’s goal is to provide consumers with a variety of products to meet their needs and preferences. As you may know, marketing is a complex function, and many business factors are taken into consideration before discontinuing a product.
Before a product becomes available at the retail level, much time and expense is involved in perfecting the recipe, consumer focus testing, and marketing support. It truly saddens us when we must discontinue a product. However, consumer demand is a major factor. When the level of demand is insufficient to ensure that consumers receive high quality products at an affordable price, the product may be discontinued.
We apologize that this product is no longer available and hope you will continue to enjoy the other products we offer. We will forward your comments to our brand staff.”
It seemed all hope was lost for the ice cream bars but CM Punk would not deter. In the same interview he would also comment by saying:
“You know what? There are other ice cream companies out there. Good Humor, we’re giving you a gift. We’re giving you an option here, and if you don’t want to take it, we will sell our wares elsewhere."
Late that night on his own Twitter account he posted this: "My day of hustling is over. Many steps were taken to get ice cream bars. Now it’s gym time. The future is bright and tastes like vanilla.”
CM Punk has hinted that he may have a deal to return the ice cream bars back to the public and into their demanding hands.
Does this mean fans will expect to see them in the near future? Only time will tell but for right now it seems that CM Punk is very close to having his and the fans beloved ice cream bars return.
