The top brass of the UFC have delivered for the fans once again as Canadian featherweight champion Mark "The Machine" Hominick has been secured to fight "The Korean Zombie" Chan Sung Jung at UFC 140 in Toronto.
The news was announced by the UFC and reported by mmaweekly.com on Saturday, and fans have been hoping for this fight announcement for weeks. Hominick is coming off a valiant effort in a title shot vs. Jose Aldo back in April, and this will be the second consecutive fight for him on Canadian soil.
UFC President Dana White has stated that Hominick is two wins away from another shot at the title, and Hominick will look to use his superb striking skills to take out the Korean submission specialist.
Jung is coming off an impressive victory over Leonard Garcia via twister submission, but this will be a large step up for him vs. Hominick. If he can secure a win in this one, the fan favorite will climb his way into the top ten in the division for the first time in his career.
He has recently started training with some of the most dangerous lighter fighters in the world at Team Alpha Male in Sacramento.
The UFC 140 card, set for December 10 in Toronto continues to grow, and Hominick/Jung is the eighth fight set for the card, and Hominick is the sixth Canadian fighter on the card.
