The legend and one of the greatest WWE heels of all time, Rowdy Roddy Piper is reportedly had to go under the knife.

According to reports from E!, TMZ and OTRC alongside Piper's own Twitter, Piper has broken his neck. In fact, his neck has apparently been broken for months.

During this time, Piper had even been in a WWE ring, rolling up the Miz for a win. As Piper puts it, "So just for the record, I beat, The Miz, Terry Funk, and 2 others guys with a broken neck!"

Piper had been reportedly feeling a nagging pain for a while after his work on the MTV show "Fantasy Factor", but he disregarded it as he was used to pain from his years of professional wrestling. When the pain got worse, he had himself checked out with a MRI. The results shockingly showed that Piper had a full-blown broken neck.

He checked into UCLA Medical Center and has undergone surgery. He will apparently be resting for the next ten days or so.

Rowdy Roddy Piper is a great competitor and one of the greatest legends in WWE. He is possibly the greatest superstar in WWE history to never win a World Championship.

The fact that he feels regular pain from his work in professional wrestling is sad to hear, but, hopefully, his recent surgery will alleviate some of that anguish.

Showing how great of a person Piper is, he still managed to find some humor in the situation as he tweeted, "There's a bright side of getting neck cut off. You get to wear bumless house coats. Great jello....help me out here!"

As a WWE and pro wrestling fan, I wish the best for Piper and hope that he has a quick recovery.
