These 2008 Cleveland Browns Are Anything But Dull!

Browns Backers,

Who knew that Savage had a little fight in him! I mean at least Phil has more cojones than his team on the field right now, and although I agree with Phil's response it adds another stain to this embarrassing and soon to be forgettable 2008 disaster of a season.

If someone is bothering and harassing me constantly to the point of badgering, I'm not going to lie, but I would have done the same thing, it's just that Phil Savage is a public figure in a seat of power who happens to run the NFL's version of a soap opera, known everywhere as the Cleveland Browns.

What makes this even more mortifying is the fact that Savage is highly regarded as one of the brightest GM's in the league and one of the boldest as well, and you have to wonder if those "dysfunctional" remarks made by Trent Dilfer are indeed true.

Let's hope this adds a spark to the team going into the game at home against Houston, because this team and organization needs it and you can't help but wonder, HOW did a fan get access to his email? And why did Savage acknowledge it, let alone reply to it?

Phil, there is a simple little button called "delete." I suggest you use it more in the future; it might help you avoid humiliating situations like this, but then again I have a feeling you will be dropping some f--- bombs on Lerner when you are escorted from Berea.

If the profootballtalk.com rumor is true that your replacement is already in the wings and that former Steelers boss, Bill Cowher will sign a deal to become GM/coach for $8-9 million a season, then you will be using more than just choice words.

So far, this season has given Browns fans lots to be thankful for, you have Derek's inconsistency, receivers who can't catch, a defense that can't stop diarrhea, fans on the edge of revolt because of this steamer of a season, and now your heartthrob QB has a sprained index finger, and now your GM rips back at a harassing fan!

Memo to Randy: Stop watching your soon-to-be relegated Aston Villa, hop on your Learjet back to Berea, and do something about this circus before it gets out of control, and while you're at it, make a decision as to whether you're going to become more involved, because the perception of soccer-loving absentee billionaire owners in a tough, blue-collar town like Cleveland isn't very nice.

This 2008 season is not over yet but with all the drama and nonstop mayhem you have to wonder if Savage would challenge TE Kellen Winslow to a MMA steel cage deathmatch.

At least this season isn't dull!

Howling in the Snow!

  1. I would agree with you that I would have done the same thing, but didn't Savage just suspend Winslow for comments detrimental to the team? Maybe Savage should practice what he preaches.

  2. David,

Yes he should! and it wouldn't surprise me that this could be the final straw as far as Lerner is concerned(as if he really cares anyway!)

  3. I would rather them be dull than god-awful.
    Ha-ha.
But no, I'm kinda serious. I would rather get blown out every game then lose heart breakers.
    I think.
