As you may know by watching TNA iPMACT Christian Cage was basically written out of TNA all together. They had no idea of what Cage's plans would be on whether he'd join the WWE or stay in TNA.

Now it seems as if the WWE is so certain that Cage will come to the WWE, that they are fighting over what brand he'd appear on. And according to the wrestling observer, there have been no plans created for Cage if he returned to WWE so far.

"If he does return to the company, Raw writer Brian Gewirtz would like to work with him because of past experience.

"Michael Hayes and Edge are pushing Vince McMahon to sign Christian and put him on Smackdown to reunite the two. The general feeling is that he would receive a big push, but depending on the reaction, he could be pulled down to mid-card status.

"Vince was behind the stopping of his push in 2005, and was said to be very negative on him despite creative team members being huge supporters of him."

This is the main reason why Cage went to TNA, he had seen himself drop out of the WWE spotlight and knew that TNA would let him shine and it was still sort of a start-up company.

When Cage went to TNA it was considered a huge acquisition by TNA, even though in the WWE he was mainly considered a mid-card wrestler. He went to TNA and proved he could handle being the man.

If he would have never laft the WWE he might be where Paul London, Trever Murdoch, Lance Cade, and Ashley are now; the independents or not even wrestling at all.

He went to TNA in hopes of showing the WWE that he was not just good enough to be a champion but a World Champion, which he was a two time TNA World Champion.

Rumors were that since Cage's contract was over after this week and most likely over in time for the SmackDown tapings that he would appear with the returning Edge. They could reunite and make a huge splash.

TNA will most likely make Cage sign a 90 day no compete clause as I previously said in former articles, but that has no affiliation on whether he could be on WWE programming or not.

It is true he cannot wrestle for 90 days, but he can do as we have seen Randy Orton do and talk about how he will be able to beat everyone and really hype his WWE comeback. The feeling was that Cage and Edge would be tag partners once he was able to compete.

And they might even renew a rivalry they had a few months before Cage went to TNA. The La Familia storyline was good, but Edge was the only one out of that storyline that benefited. All who were in it are basically mid-card at best.

Vickie Guerrero didn't see her role change considering her great role as a heel GM on SmackDown. But Edge was the best in it. There is no doubt that he could get his revenge on the Undertaker once he comes back, but that is uncertain.

There is also a rumored that he could be at Survivor Series too. But it seems unlikely considering that Cage's WWE return could be on next week's Smack Down in Florida. And it would be easy for both parties considering that both Edge and Christian live in the Florida area.

Both lived in Canada for years and both now live in the Florida area now, of course I don't know the exact city obviously. They are always presented in their openings as coming from Canada usually.

If Cage doesn't make his WWE appearance next week it could be in December, that is if he does sign with the WWE, which seems to be the case. And he looks more towards going to SmackDown rather than RAW.

Edge had asked Vince McMahon and others to try and get Cage back in the WWE, he told them that he knew Cage would be happier in the WWE, and he also wanted to see him back too.

Both have been friends their entire lives and have been storyline brothers in the WWE. They would most likely continue that same storyline obviously. They both have been in contact ever since Cage went to TNA as well.

There is no doubt that Cage would be offered more money and would get a nice push if he does sign with the WWE. After all Micheal Hayes said it would happen and even Vince said it could too.

We will have to see but he would be a big addition and no doubt he would be a very popular star. When Chris Jericho returned he was put right into a title match with Randy Orton.

If that happens to Cage is uncertain, but what seems to be likely is that he will sign, but I'll know more after this week, keep reading any of my Christian Cage articles for the latest in the story.

  1. I'd have Christian return at the Royal Rumble as #30, costing Edge the match.

  2. Oooo Martin, I like your attitude. I'd like to see that muhself!

  3. two words... INSTANT CLASSIC it is a sad day when "the champ" leaves TNA. maybe wwe will have christian doing the crybaby gag with ddp again...that was great. fuck vince

  4. Christian Cage = BORING.

Instant classic? HAHAHA! I always laugh when I hear that.

Yeah... classic boredom. No charisma whatsoever, grumbles on the mic, and he looks like a anorexic vagrant with HIV.

God, I really hope he doesn't come back to WWE.

  5. " he looks like a anorexic vagrant... " thats one of the reasons vince wants him back, because he's not "takin' his vitamins brother" i find him very funny on the mic and great in the ring. if you don't well thats how you feel. also, i've read he is a great guy locker room presence, helps out the young guys etc. we can agree on one thing god i hope he doesn't go back to wwe. he'll have more of a chance to be creative in TNA and more of a chance to get above mid-card status
...if you dont know...now you know

  6. i hope christian cage comes back to wwe that is where he belongs, also if he does return i hope he iwll be in the main event level, also it would be cool if goes to smackdown and rival with edge.

  7. Christian will be the one that ended up attacking jeff hardy at his hotel room. I think that will be the storyline they start with.

  8. This is a no brainer if Christian comes back to the WWE. Now that Jeff is WWE champion and Matt is ECW champ, have both Edge and Christian beat them both on a PPV and then reveal Christian and Edge were the ones who beat up Jeff. Now you have a huge feud for the months. If I was a writer, that's how I would have it go down. You heard it hear first. Just a fan but know how wrestling plots happen.
