WWE News: Santino Marella Involved in Car Accident

According to WWE.com, Santino Marella was involved in an accident Thursday night.

The article states that Marella suffered a separated shoulder as a result of the accident. Apparently, another car struck Marella's car, causing it to flip sideways.

Santino was able to talk to WWE.com and gave the following statement:

"

"I had just left home and was going to get my hair cut before I began packing for WWE's trip to Puerto Rico," explained Marella. "[My barber] wasn't around, so I just decided to go home.

"My car flipped sideways and the trunk hit a light pole, it completely crushed in," Marella said. "The airbags deployed, and all I could smell was gunpowder."

Fortunately for Santino, his car took the brunt of the damage. As the photo shows, it eventually stopped near a light post.

In his final statement to the WWE, he said:

""There was broken glass everywhere, and I tried to open the passenger door, but it was stuck. Luckily, there was still power in the car. I opened the sunroof and crawled out."

"I need to heal up as fast as possible and get back in that ring," Santino said. "I want to get back there and fight.”

Hopefully, Marella will heal quickly as he is definitely one of the funniest characters on TV. Luckily for him, he is not involved in any main-event picture—as it could take up to 12 weeks for this type of injury to heal.

On a side note, I am glad to see WWE got this exclusive and not TMZ.
