WWE News: NWO, Kevin Nash, CM Punk, Tag Team Revamp and More

Justin HollowayCorrespondent ISeptember 1, 2011

So many things going on in the World of Wrestling Entertainment these days. Hints about the New World Order making a comeback have surfaced since Kevin Nash took over the iconic theme song of the original group. I'd like to see a new NWO start up with some fresh talent, which the WWE has plenty of. It's a legacy that should never die. Nash is the only one that could do it anyway, in my opinion. He was the backbone of the group alongside Hulk Hogan and Scott Hall back in its original inception.

This past Monday on Raw we saw Kevin Nash get involved with R Truth and the Miz's beatdown being unleashed upon CM Punk. Could they be among the first ushered into the ranks of a new NWO? Sounds like a plan in my book! Start with these men and add some names that need the airtime, such as Michael McGillicutty, whose father was a member of the group back in its WCW heyday. He needs a good push and more ring time to find his niche.

Give these new guys something to get pumped up about. That something could be a revamp of the NWO. Right now it seems there are too many performers waiting for someone to get injured so there can be a spot on the show for them. There are so many superstars on the roster that the talents who need a push are being pushed to the back and told to wait their turn. You can't get the fans behind you if you don't get the exposure you need. As far the the main event level goes, they're recycling and repackaging so many people that the fans aren't sure who they like anymore. Let's hope the WWE bigwigs can figure out what to do with all the options they have on their plate.

Speaking of Kevin Nash, it seems we'll have to wait a bit longer to see him back in a WWE ring.

Something happened with his physical, but it's expected he'll be ready to go within a few more weeks. I was looking forward to seeing him lockup with CM Punk. But Triple H is sure to give us a good match in his place. But if it were up to me, I'd put Nash back in there. Make this a triple-threat match with all other performers barred from ringside. Or you could just stick them in a cage or a Hell in a Cell and see what unfolds. Both Triple H and Kevin Nash know how Hell in a Cell goes. And I'm sure CM Punk could put on a great match with both of those ring veterans.

CM Punk came from ROH, a traditional and more technical style of wrestling than the entertainment driven WWE. Word is Ring of Honor tag team champs the Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli) are expected to be WWE bound at this point as a part of the revitalization happening on the tag team front. This based off of the fact that they also have yet to sign new deals with ROH after being contacted by the WWE. I've watched a handful of their matches and they look great! Let's hope Triple H and Vince McMahon watched those matches, too, and took some notes for the other boys in the locker room.

This tag team division revitalization is long overdue, in my opinion. The new WWE Tag Team Champs, Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne, are fun to watch, but need time to finesse their tag team style. I hope to see even more new teams brought in that have been working together for some time. The King's of Wrestling being the trendsetters, hopefully.

So what do you say? Would you like to see a reinvention of the NWO led by Kevin Nash? What tag teams would you like to see in the WWE? Tell me what tag team combinations you'd put together using the current roster.

As always, thanks for reading! -J
