The Champ Is.....Needed?? Why RAW Needs John Cena

Survivor Series 2008 will mark the return of the man we love to hate...John Cena.  While it's certain that Cena has a huge following with the young WWE fan, the adult WWE fans can't stand him.  Maybe you love to boo him but one thing is clear to me after the last few months of Monday Night RAW, Cena is needed back on RAW....BAD!!

Lets face it, RAW over the last several weeks has been average at best and that's putting it nicely.  Put it this way, I've enjoyed the vignettes with Santino Marella more than anything else on the show and last night they took the IC Belt away from him!  You mean no more Honk-a-Meter!?!?

Cena brings the charisma and the mic work that other top faces lack and outside of Batista you do not have a main event face on RAW.  Shawn Michaels is getting old, CM Punk holds the tag team belts with Kofi Kingston and Rey Mysterio doesn't seem to be in the plans either.

With Randy Orton and Chris Jericho you have two of the top heels in the WWE and definitely the top two on RAW.  You need someone other than Batista to face them.

Cena vs. Orton has been done before but it's been while and could be made an enjoyable feud again.  It looks like the WWE may be going with a Batista vs. Orton feud right now. This feud along with the Jericho vs. Cena feud can carry you into the Royal Rumble.

I think that we are going to see the Cena/Batista rematch at Wrestlemania 25.  Vince sees this as the Hulk Hogan vs. Ultimate Warrior of the new millennium and it will be a top draw for the historic 25th anniversary of Wrestlemania.

The question is will either Batista or Cena go into the event as a heel?  Cena turning heel would be nice but is unlikely.  His merchandise sales are huge for WWE and I don't think the company will risk it.  Batista is more likely to turn but it wouldn't surprise me if both go to Wrestlemania as faces.

So whether you love him or you hate him, cheer him or boo him you have to admit that deep down inside you'll be glad to see John Cena walk down the ramp again on Monday nights.  At least you'll be entertained again.
