Philadelphia Eagles: The Real Deal or All Hype?
It's no surprise that the Philadelphia Eagles are one of the most hyped teams in the NFL this season.
They traded for Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. They signed Jason Babin and Cullen Jenkins. They traded away Kevin Kolb and then picked up Vince Young. Recently they've snagged Steve Smith from rival New York Giants, and signed South Beach's Ronnie Brown.
And let's not forget the biggest free-agent signing of the year: Nnamdi Asomugha.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
But are the Eagles really everything they are hyped up to be?
The Dream Team?
I think not.
While signing such big-name players will undoubtedly bolster the Eagles, it still does not change the fact that they still have thin linebacker corps and lack of depth on the offensive line.
While some can point to the improved secondary as a reason not to worry, the lack of talent at linebacker can prove to be critical when teams begin to run the ball on Philadelphia. Considering that the Eagles' safety depth is just as bad as that of their linebackers, and Philadelphia's defense suddenly doesn't look so invincible.
On offense the lack of depth on the offensive line doesn't seem to matter if quarterback Michael Vick is taking snaps, but the Eagles' run game will suffer if they do not upgrade the big men.
Additionally the lack of time spent between Vick and receivers DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin could prove to be detrimental when the season begins. Explosive offenses key on having excellent timing, and without training camp or preseason to prepare, Vick's chemistry with the two could get rusty.
The NFL has proven time and time again that you can't buy a Vince Lombardi trophy. Jeffrey Lurie could buy the best players on the market, but as the New England Patriots showed in 2007, they won't win a championship.
Philadelphia will win many games this year. They will probably even win the NFC East.
But the NFC Championship? Doubtful.
And the Super Bowl? Improbable.
